About Door & Dwelling
A more considered view of home
We publish reported stories, practical guides and original perspectives for people who want homes to work beautifully over time. Our coverage begins in Canada and looks outward, drawing lessons from good buildings, enduring materials, generous landscapes and the people who shape them.
Useful before impressive
We judge an idea by whether it helps readers understand, decide or care for a home—not by whether it follows a trend.
Evidence before certainty
We identify sources, distinguish reporting from opinion and say when an answer depends on location, budget or professional advice.
Homes as lived places
We value comfort, adaptability, craft, landscape and daily life alongside appearance.
What we cover
Our core desks are Architecture, Interiors, Renovation, Gardens & Outdoors, Kitchens & Baths, Sustainable Living and Homekeeping. Exceptional homes are selected editorially for the ideas and stories they hold; they are not presented as a listings feed.
How we work
Editors commission and review stories for usefulness, originality, accuracy and fit. We document sources, credit imagery, label commercial relationships and maintain a visible corrections process. Read our editorial standards and commercial policy.
